I consider her my first teacher in blogging, as I first read her articles at “writingup” and learned a lot from it.

Who is Gracepub?

She is a freelancer, published author and online instructor. She has taught the art of writing to more than 2000 students in the last five years. For more information or to read her portfolio:

Many days ago I planned to write about her, but as “writingup” site is down and most of good bloggers has left the blogs, I could not get the full record of her writings. Then I came across to her blog at wordpress and I want you to just read a post from her. Because in her postings, she has a touch of being personal, and whenever I read his personal posts, I feel like it is my own story. It touches me! (I am also a mom with this exception that I do a part time teaching job and at my leisure I do blogging.)

I didn’t start out as a magazine publisher. More than ten years ago, I cleaned houses to pay the bills. I worked hard, didn’t see my children, and was tired all the time. Then, I saw a single word that changed my life WAHM - Work at Home Mom. At first, I was inundated with scams. I took courses and learned how to write articles and books. But, I still didn’t see how a person could make a living writing sales letters for $3.00, or articles for .02 a word.

Still, I continued. It took me a couple of years to find my niche. I wrote about dogs. I breed and show Chinese Crested dogs, had run a training school, and trained guard dogs, so I had a lot of information to write about. Then, I started to run into writers who quit freelance writing because they were not good enough. This opened up an entirely new venue. If I was good enough, then anyone could make a living writing.

It took me about five years to earn a steady income. Not bad when you compare it to going $20 000 in debt and spending four years in a college. I figure that I saved myself $20 000, and paid the bills while learning.

I am going to post more to help other WAHMs save a couple years, and learn how to cope
